Virtual Playdate Ideas
In the foundation stage classrooms, teachers will often refer to teaching for the ‘whole child’, meaning that we can not simply focus on academic learning and neglect the other areas of a child’s development. One of the most important areas of a little one’s development is the social and emotional side.
During this time, where staying at home is of vital importance, it is crucial to pay attention to the impact this would have on our children. As adults it is difficult for us, having to stay at home and not see our friends and families, we need to remember it is just as difficult for the little ones.
One of the first things my class always mentions when they attend a live session is that they miss coming to school and seeing their friends. Although it is not quite the same, I would like to share some ideas for virtual playdates with you.
