    A LITTLE ABOUT OUR PUBLICATIONS

Blouberg International School is more than a school – it is a community of diverse individuals and families, a centre for academic excellence, for some a home away from home and yet more importantly a family for all those that are part of it.
Our School is as diverse as the location in which it finds itself, our commitment to highlighting social injustice, the celebration of differences and the fostering of international mindedness goes beyond the classroom.

Year 10 Outreach 2019

Every year after completing their external IGCSE examinations the year 10’s are afforded a long and well deserved break, and during this break they use some of that time to do good for the community. This year they tackled 3 different causes.

On day one of outreach they visited the animal shelter and rehabilitation center Fallen Angels. The students were put to work, gardening and painting. Once they had completed these tasks they had the opportunity to interact and play with huskies and puppies.

Day two was a perfect day for their next project. Armed with gloves and plastic bags they set out to walk from Sunset beach to Woodbridge Island and clean up the beach. They gathered a large amount of trash and learned about where it comes from and the dangers it poses.

The final day we partnered with Clean C and visited a recycling depot in Joe Slovo. This was physically the most demanding day of the three, but the students kept their spirits high and managed to sort through piles of recycling. They also learnt about where the sorted recycling then goes and the economies of recycling.

The spirit and dedication the year 10’s displayed was highly commendable and their contribution to their communities invaluable!
